The festive period has always been one of the busiest times of the year for the hair, beauty and spa industry, and after the challenges presented by the pandemic, services look set to be more in demand than ever in 2021. While a certain degree of Covid-19 uncertainty remains, there is no doubt that since reopening in May, the sector has enjoyed a steady return to form and can look forward to ending the year on a high. There is still Government support available; some financial grants remain in place, while the recently announced Budget 2022 confirmed the extension of the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme, along with the 9% VAT rate for hairdressing services.
