Our bodycare feature takes a look at massage treatments, and how adding them to your menu can boost profits and meet clients’ needs. With technology more accessible than ever, we explain the advantages of having salon software, and how to decide which system best suits your individual requirements. And our scissors feature highlights the latest cutting-edge styles, and the best tools to create these looks.

With the pandemic creating a shift in the way people work, we take a look at collaborative workspaces, which are becoming popular in the hair and beauty sector, as more and more professionals look beyond the traditional salon model.

Meanwhile, Liz McKeon explains the importance of carrying out staff appraisals, and Northern Ireland hairdresser Sharon Malcolm chats to us about her career to date. All of this is accompanied by news, views and some amazing hair fashion collections.

We’re also delighted to announce new venues for the PB/HJ show weekend, and our inaugural Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards.

After a two-year break due to Covid-19, the show is returning to Dublin’s RDS on 6 and 7 November. The event was held at the RDS for nine consecutive years prior to the pandemic, so we’re thrilled to be going back there.

The Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards will be held in the Shelbourne Hotel on the evening of 6 November. With entries open until 29

July, the awards are a fitting way to recognise the outstanding talent within the hair and beauty sector in Ireland. And after a challenging few years, they are the perfect way to celebrate the industry.
