STAGES ARE SET!
With three live stages at this year's show, here's a taste of what you can expect to see, hear and learn from some of the industry's top names
TRENDS & TECHNIQUES
The Trends & Techniques Stage will give you a unique insight into what is currently trending in the industry so you can be sure you can continue to meet client demand and stay ahead of the competition.
This year's platform has lots of inspirational speakers, with award-winning nail artist Kirsty Meakin kicking things off on the first day of the show with a skills tutorial. The nail industry in Ireland has never been more exciting, and Meakin will be back on day two of the show to reveal the top trends for 2023, and do a live demonstration of one of the hottest looks.
Waxing therapist and Beauty, Hair & Spa Award winner Gillian Redmond will cover the topic of client care, specifically in the area of intimate female waxing, while Louise Guilfoyle, group head of talent acquisition at the Laser Clinics Group, will speak about the very topical issue of staff retention, and how to grow your employee base.
Other highlights include permanent make-up (PMU) specialist, international trainer and self-confessed brow queen Monica Ivani, who will speak about the PMU sector and its future in the beauty business; Charli Jepson, head of education for Glitterbels, who will give a talk about the builder gel trend; and Meraki's Sarah Jane Curtin, who will do a QuickTip nails demonstration.
Meanwhile, make-up artist Evelyn Byrne will show you how to create the iconic angel make-up look, which took TikTok by storm last year. Featuring celestially sheeny skin, delicately flushed cherub cheeks and silky sparkling eyelids, this is a must-see tutorial from Byrne.
HAIR & BARBERING
Presented by Hairdressers Journal International and Modern Barber, the Hair & Barbering Stage once again promises to be packed with invaluable advice to help you meet all client requests.
We cannot wait to welcome Dom Seely to this platform on both days of the show. Qualified by the age of 16, the celebrity hairdresser to big names such as Montana Brown and Olivia Culpo went on to open his own salon, before going freelance when he was 23. With over 30,000 followers on Instagram, Seely knows how to hone his craft, find a niche in the market and get noticed. You will not want to miss what he has to share.
Owner of the Bareknuckle Barbershop in Derry, Greg McNeil is another name we're hugely excited to announce to the line-up. McNeil and his team are the official artists' barbers for music promoter MCD, which has led to them adding Post Malone, Rag'n'Bone Man and George Ezra to their client portfolio.
Also taking to the Hair & Barbering stage is Sean Taaffe, owner of Sean Taaffe Hair & Beauty, which has three branches in Co Kerry, along with Sean Taaffe Education. Taaffe will share his knowledge and skills at this year's show, promising to leave you feeling confident and motivated.
We are also looking forward to welcoming Dublin salon owner Aidan Fitzgerald. With over 40 years of experience, Fitzgerald is a well-regarded industry stalwart, respected for his knowledge of the sector, and what drives it. And the talented Richard Correia returns to the Hair & Barbering Stage this year, where he will demonstrate a skill that you can take back to the salon with you.
SKIN & ADVANCED TREATMENTS
Whether you want to enhance your treatment menu and add aesthetics, or learn about skin rejuvenation or microneedling from the most experienced in the industry, the Skin & Advanced Treatments Stage will cover everything you need to know.
Skin Philosophy’s Annalouise Kenny will be taking to the stage both days to discuss the importance of combination treatments, and the steps to setting up your own clinic.
Also among the speaker line-up is Lisa Moroney, owner of Skin Smart Clinic in Dublin, who will give a talk on the things to consider when adding laser treatments to your menu. Laser treatments have grown in popularity in Ireland over the past number of years, with clients opting to have laser hair removal, as well as a wide range of laser facial treatments. Moroney will explain the business benefits of introducing a device to your salon, while explaining what treatments might work best for different types of salons.
Sinead Mellon will give a talk on oncology aesthetics, and the role this service plays within the hair and beauty industry. The owner of a salon in Dundalk, Co Louth, Mellon specialises in caring for those undergoing cancer treatment and will address the importance of taking a holistic approach with these clients.
Meanwhile, Claudio Massoli from Eden Beauty Group will speak about understanding the ageing process, and how to reverse it using technology, while Olivia Murray from Marie Reynolds London will give a talk on treating skin from the inside out.
