Welcome to our June issue and to Professional Beauty & Hair 2023, in partnership with Irish Beauty and headline sponsor Treatwell. We're hugely excited to be back in the RDS for the ultimate beauty and hair event! With over 100 exhibitors, the two days will feature the latest product launches and innovations to help you stay ahead of the competition.
As you browse some of the biggest brand names and learn more about their newest offerings, you can stop by our live stages for education and skills demonstrations that you can take back to the salon with you. The Trends & Techniques, Hair & Barbering and Skin & Advanced Treatments Stages will host a range of industry experts who will share their knowledge in their chosen specialities. From make-up artistry and client care, to celebrity hairdressing and laser treatments, there is something for everyone across the three platforms.
And that's not all. Back this year are our Nail Competitions, which are a perfect way for both budding and established nail technicians to raise their profile in the industry. And the 2023 event sees the very exciting launch of our Make-up Competitions. Hosted by Irish Beauty, the selection of categories will capture the imagination of talented MUAs looking to showcase their creativity.
Meanwhile, this issue has plenty of tips on how to stay profitable over the summer months. With demand for waxing services set to increase at this time of year, we highlight some common issues that can arise, and how to overcome them. We also chat to some experts about dermaplaning, and bring you a selection of solutions to make your hair salon more sustainable.
Don't forget that the closing date for the Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards 2023 is getting closer. The deadline is Friday, 28 July, so don't leave it until the last minute to put yourself forward in one – or more – of the 14 categories. For more information, and to enter, visit professionalbeauty.ie/awards.
We hope you all have a successful and rewarding time at the show – we look forward to reconnecting with you all!
