Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards 2024 open for entries!
The Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards are back for 2024 and are now open for entries. With 14 categories in total, the gala ceremony will take place at the InterContinental Dublin on 10 November.
Now in their third year, the Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards are different from other awards because they are judged by the industry, for the industry. A panel of experts, who are chosen for their skills and knowledge, decide who wins, making the competition one of the fairest in the sector.
Winning one of these prestigious awards is a unique opportunity to stand out in your chosen speciality, offering you unrivalled recognition in the market. Entry is free, and applicants can put themselves forward in one or more categories if they wish.

Alfaparf Milano Professional appoints new digital advocate & ambassador
Alfaparf Milano Professional has announced Chris Doyle as its new digital advocate & ambassador.
Doyle is the owner of Instaco Hair in Belfast. He began his hairdressing career at the age of 14 and became a junior stylist at the age of 17. He went on to open his own business, and by the age of 25, he had four award-winning salons with 48 staff.
“Becoming an Alfaparf Milano Professional ambassador is a huge honour for me,” he said. “I’ve been with the brand for 15 years and love everything about it, from the company ethos to how quality-led the products are, and how the brand values their customers and partnerships and works on growing relationships.”

Thérapie Clinic creates 40 jobs with opening of biggest location to date in Galway
Thérapie Clinic’s has opened its newest location on Edward Square in Galway, with the 5,000 sq ft branch being the company's biggest clinic to date.
Featuring 18 treatment rooms, it has created 40 jobs, with new members of staff undergoing Thérapie Clinic’s training programme.
The clinic is offering an extensive menu of treatments, including doctor-led cosmetic injections; advanced skin treatments such as Potenza and Hydrafacial; and medical-grade laser hair removal.
Thérapie Clinic was founded over 20 years ago and now has more than 70 clinics throughout Ireland, the UK and the US.
“At Thérapie Clinic we have big plans for 2024, starting with opening Ireland's biggest aesthetic clinic yet in Galway,” said Phillip McGlade, CEO of Thérapie Clinic.
“We will continue to blend expertise with accessibility, making aesthetic treatments available to everyone.”
Thérapie Clinic is also opening its second New York branch in the coming months.

■ The Irish Hairdressing Council has announced the appointment of Debbie O’Keeffe Crinnion as president. She was previously vicepresident of the organisation, and she takes over from outgoing president Maria Duffy. The Hairdressing Council of Ireland was set up as a not-for-profit organisation to make positive changes in the industry. Among its objectives are to give career advice about the different avenues available and to lobby the Government about various issues affecting the sector. O’Keeffe Crinnion is the owner of Montana Blu Hairdressing & Academy, based in Fermoy, Co Cork and she is also lead educator for Osmo.
■ The Spa at Ashford Castle in Cong, Co Mayo has retained its five-star Forbes Travel Guide ranking. It is the only spa in Ireland to have received this rating. The annual Forbes Travel Guide ranks the world’s most luxurious properties and is the only global independent rating system. The Spa at Ashford Castle was recognised “as a modern oasis designed to pamper you like royalty”. Meanwhile, Ashford Castle also retained its five-star status, which it has now achieved for five years in a row.
■ Schwarzkopf Professional has announced the individuals selected for the Young Artistic Team (YAT) 2024, with an Ireland-based stylist among the line-up. Cory Crosby from Kevin Kahan Salon in Bangor, Co Down is among the stylists who have been chosen to take part in the year-long initiative, with the rest of the winners based in the UK. The programme is designed to cultivate and elevate the future leaders of the hairdressing industry. According to Schwarzkopf Professional, it initially planned for a team of six, but the competition was so fierce that an additional member (Max Andrea, Claxton Hair) was added to the YAT, making it a group of seven. Along with Crosby and Andrea, the other Schwarzkopf Professional YAT 2024 members are Emma Thomber, Gypsy Rose Hair; Georgina Bradshaw, Hooker & Young; Daniel Joy, Haug London House; Sophie Kinloch, Rainbow Room International; and Olivia Brady, The Honey Comb.
