When the Irish hair and beauty sector closed for six weeks in October, spray tans were among the most sought after services in the pre-lockdown rush. Tanning treatments are now as popular as other year-round services, and clients are booking accordingly

TAN AND GLOW 

Insanity Tan’s collection of professional organic tanning solutions are free from any harmful or toxic additives. DECIDE WITH DROPS

Crazy Angel Tanning Drops are aimed at clients who want to customise their glow. The key active ingredients in the drops contain antioxidant properties to fight free radicals and damage caused by UV rays. Five to 12 drops can be mixed in with moisturiser or serum and applied evenly to skin; the more drops added, the deeper the tan. Tanning Drops are vegan-friendly and free from alcohol, parabens and mineral oil.

BOTTLED GOLD 

Bellamianta Luxury Tanning recently introduced a new look to celebrate the Irish brand’s five years in business. Its Liquid Gold range, which it calls the ‘holy grail’ of its offering, is now available in Bellamianta’s new rose gold packaging, and both Medium and Dark shades are in a bigger 200ml bottle. Also getting a revamp are the Skin Perfecting Illuminating Bronzing Powder, Kabuki Brush and Double Sided Velvet Mitt. All Bellamianta products are formulated with natural extracts and clean ingredients, and have Peta certificates.

SILKY SMOOTH 

Silk Oil is the professional salon formula from TanOrganic. According to the brand, the two-part process makes it unique. The client gets tanned either manually or using a spray tan gun. As it is a moisturising body treatment, it can also be applied during a massage. The client is then given a 25ml top-up bottle of tan to take home (worth €11.20). This can be used to prolong the length of the tan by topping up a few days later, as required, or to add an additional layer if a deeper colour is desired.

COLOUR BOOST

Launched in Ireland last year, Norvell’s UVC Cosmo is a hybrid tanning solution formulated with the brand’s Dark and Venetian base blends to give a boost to clients’ skin colour. The brand says the solution is its fastest-drying formula yet, and is enriched with micro-nutrient technology, and tomato, watermelon and cranberry extracts, to deliver a flawless tan, as well as keep skin hydrated. Free from parabens, gluten and sulphates, it is suitable for vegans.

TAN SMART 

Part of He-Shi’s Pro-Advanced Collection, this spray tan is suitable for all skin types and uses smart tanning technology to deliver a natural glow in up to four hours. It has been formulated to develop a tan that complements the client’s skin tone.Fortified with argan oil, avocado oil and pentavitin, the formula leaves skin feeling silky and nourished, whilst prolonging the tan for up to 10 days.

WONDER BLUR 

Vita Liberata’ s Beauty Blur Sunless Glow is a multitasking primer and self-tanning skin tone optimiser. It can be used on its own, or worn under make-up, and the formula contains organic rosehip, to promote cell detoxification; and anti-ageing peptides, which kick-start the production of collagen and elastin to plump and firm skin. It’s available in three shades: Latte Light, Latte and Latte Dark.

ULTRA DARK 

This is the Sienna X’s darkest tan yet, giving tan lovers the chance to maintain a deep glow in between professional appointments. Formulated with Q10 and shea butter to hydrate, and infused with lemon peel extract to reduce the appearance of cellulite, this lotion glides onto the skin for an easy, streak-free application. The product is vegan-friendly and infused with a coconut and vanilla scent.

MAGIC MIST

This super-fine, light mist delivers an even, all-over tan that is natural looking. The melanin technology contained in the formula works with the client’s skin cells to create a tan that customises itself with their natural skin tone. It can be left on for four hours for a dark tan, or eight hours for an intense, extra-dark tan.
