Welcome to the first issue of PB/HJ Ireland for 2023. It's safe to say that we ended 2022 on a high, as Professional Beauty & Hair made a triumphant return to the RDS in November, with thousands of visitors attending the two-day exhibition.

We're thrilled to announce that this year's show will be back in the RDS on 28-29 May – you can register your interest now on professionalbeauty.ie, where we will also be revealing the line-up of exhibitors, speakers and other exciting additions to the 2023 show in the coming months.

Last year also saw the hugely successful launch of our Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards. Taking place in The Shelbourne on 6 November, trophies were handed out across 14 categories, as the industry gathered to celebrate the best in the business. You can read all about the deserving winners on page 27, and stay tuned to our website and social media platforms for key dates for the Beauty, Hair & Spa Awards 2023.

Our first issue of the year also includes plenty of content to help you start 2023 with purpose. Our education and training feature takes a look at the importance of CPD, and how it can benefit both your staff and business, while our sunless tanning feature puts the spotlight on the best products to add to your retail offering in the winter months. And with many clients presenting with thinning hair issues, we ask some specialists in this area how best to treat this condition.

Meanwhile, Liz McKeon has some advice on how to attract more male clients, while our hair fashion collections showcase some of our awards finalists and winners. As usual, all this is accompanied by a mix of news, views and the latest products to hit the market.
